Free food, free shelter, and free everything. Isn’t that just impressive? Much like that library we have is. Is the food actually safe? Are the places we live in bugged with cameras? Read the guide and I guess nobody thought of those questions. Did anybody even think to ask? It's really not too different. People stayed the same. No big breakthroughs.

I hear that in the future, people drive around in automobiles and use electricity. There's also crafts called airplanes, that sounds like a great improvements over my era.

Technology changes, sure. It has been since the beginning. It doesn't really mean much.

Wouldn't you agree that technological advancements help the world to become better?

Not at all.

May I ask why you think that?

It's the people who are supposed to make a difference.

And with each passing era, humans create things that do make a difference.

And create more things that destroy.

Not all devices man creates are destroyers.

Of course not. Carnivores don't always eat their babies, but does it make a difference to the animals they do eat?

We created guns for protection, but look how well that served us.

There are other ways to protect yourself with something other than a gun.

But that's a new technology we came up with, correct? So isn't this supposed to be something incredible to you?

Muskets and pistols have been around since before and even during my era, it's nothing new to me.

Didn't you ask me what was new about my era? You mentioned new technology. If someone from before your era, before pistols and muskets, were told about them?

Should they be impressed? More tools to harm more people. People staying the same and causing more damage.

I'm not impressed by tools of war, I prefer the piano and the tools of music.
